For more than 5 years COTN Mid-Atlantic has been working with Moblissa Community Church. For more info and to see what's happening go to http://www.missionguyana.org.
Several people from the Richmond churches have traveled down to help and serve the Kids of Cascabel in Nicaragua. To find out more visit http://www.flutemakerministries.org.
Some of our Oasis have partnered in various ways with a fantastic organization called the Youth Life Foundation. Check them out at http://www.ylfr.org.
In a desire to see Christianity relevant to society and lived out in simple authenticity, we've recognized three legs on which COTN Mid-Atlantic stands.
1. Church in the House (Simple Church) 2. Church in Celebration 3. Church in Apostolic Thrust
One of the core values of COTN is that God is a loving Father and everything that He is and does stems from the foundation of his fatherhood and from family. Therefore, family relationship with Him and through Him with one another is foundational to honoring Him. We see that simple New Testament church life can best be lived out in homes where communities of believers are discipled and cared for as they reach neighborhoods, workplaces, and the nations with the love of Christ, as seen in Acts 1:8 "you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
Let's look a little more closely at these three legs.
LEG ONE: CHURCH IN THE HOUSE (OASIS); a.k.a., "SIMPLE CHURCH"
Equipping ministries called to serve OASIS churches gather them for times of Celebration. The frequency of Celebration meetings is determined by these ministries in counsel with OASIS elders. The meetings not only serve OASIS churches, but many from the wider Body of Christ. Some who do not yet know the Lord will meet Him during these times. But the Celebration purpose is to praise and celebrate the King, to equip with teaching/preaching ministry, and to see signs follow the ministry of the Word. These ministries are to provide regular training for leaders as well as training that will serve elders in equipping believers to fulfill their destiny.
This will happen on two fronts initially: the greater Richmond area and the mid-Atlantic region.

The Three Legs of Church Life
LEG THREE: CHURCH IN APOSTOLIC THRUST
Apostolic thrust will be accomplished from the Oasis, the region, the Cluster and COTN International.
Meeting people's needs is more complex than that which can simply be met by OASIS elders. Therefore, we see operating out of the Resource Center, Transformation Ministries that will run courses specifically aimed at need or growth areas; e.g., The Anointed Marriage, Divorce Recovery, Grief Share, The Alpha Course, God's Interest In Your Financial Interests, and others.
These courses, with special counseling when necessary, will serve to transform believers' lives as well as introducing many to Christ.
