The Poultry Project PDF Print E-mail

We are currently working on the establishment of multiple small-scale poultry farms in the Moblissa/Linden area.  At the moment we have established two locations which have approximately 100 chickens.  The capacity of the pens that have been built will hold up to 500 chickens and when at capacity the birds would be raised in a pattern of 100 new chicks at 1 week intervals.   This solves the problem of lack of refrigeration when the birds are at maturity and prepared for sale.

Problem statement

We are ministering in a community where many have gone jobless, resulting from the closure of the once vibrant cattle ranch and dairy.

Some residents have resorted to farming; however, in many cases this has resulted in little more than subsistence farming, and left many in dire poverty.

The Moblissa Poultry Project would provide solutions beyond employment and income generated from the sales of the poultry meat.  This also gives an opportunity to teach stewardship and kingdom financial principles.

Objective

  •
    • To create much needed employment and income for members of the church and community.
    • To aid the church in providing care, support and subsistence to suffering residents due to poverty or other social economic factors.
    • To teach kingdom principles of stewardship and managing finances.

Expected outcome
This project will provide a healthy resource for unemployed members of the community.  It will greatly enhance the churches ability to effectively deliver its mandate of declaring the gospel of the kingdom to its community.
